Given that Car Warranty scams were listed as the top complaint with the FCC the last two years running, we thought we’d share a few tips on what you can do to stop the annoying calls:
- First, know that if your Caller ID says Vapor Armour, it is one of our team and no one else, it is safe to answer.
- Second, when you receive a car warranty call that you feel is illegitimate, do not reply. If you respond by voice, they know you’re a real person and calls will increase.
- Third, do not use any buttons on your phone other than the end call button until the call is over, this also signals them that someone has answered and increases the calls.
- Finally, there is a setting on almost all smartphones where you can select “silence unknown callers”
If you’re like everyone else, you simply add the number to the lengthy list of numbers you’ve blocked, knowing they will inevitably spoof a new number and try again in a never-ending cycle.
